The department of Electronics and Communication Association (AGNI- Association of Gen-Next Innovators) was established in 2014.

Objectives

To improve interpersonal skills of students

Agni for the academic year 2021-22 was inaugurated on 5 th may 2021 by Dr. Dhaneesh Chandran ,Scientist D, Semiconductor Technology & Applied Research Center, Defense Research & Development Organization.

MOU signing with CSEED

Centre for Skill Enhancement and Employability Development (CSEED) is an affiliate of National Council for Technology and Training (NACTET) an autonomous organization registered under Govt of Kerala and Government of India NCT, New Delhi under Indian trust act. and Universal Engineering College signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 15/01/2021.

Universal Engineering College and Centre for Skill Enhancement and Employability Development (CSEED) initiates employment generation, economic growth and social development process. Our skill development policy will be an integral part of comprehensive economic, labor and social policies and programmes. It will promote excellence and will meet the requirements of knowledge economy. CSEED endeavors to provide industry relevant education and well-crafted training and skill development programs in different technical areas.

Webinar on the topic “How to become a good entrepreneur “ for the academic year 2021- 22,organized by Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering and IEDC ,Universal Engineering College, Vallivattam was inaugurated on 17th May 2021 as YouTube live (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KvK3InfzyNo) through Zoom . Mr. P B Zainudeen , Director, Universal Engineering College , Director, HotpackGlobal,UAE delivered the Inaugural Speech and Dr. Jose K Jacob, Principal, Universal Engineering College delivered the principal’s address. The resource person for the webinar was Mr. Martin K Chacko , Assistant Director, Govt. of India, Ministry of Micro Small and Medium Enterprises, MSME Dev. Instt. ,Thrissur. He explained about MSME and its objectives. He pointed out that MSME is not only play crucial role in providing large employment opportunities at comparatively lower capital cost than large industries but also help in industrialization of rural & backward areas, thereby, reducing regional imbalances, assuring more equitable distribution of national income and wealth. He motivated students to develop an entrepreneur culture while studying and afterwards ways to apply it under MSME.

Technical Talk on ‘Machine Learning’

Technical Talk on ‘Machine Learning’ conducted on 28/05/2021 as YouTube live (https://youtu.be/muhjKN4VIug) through Zoom. The programme was inaugurated by Dr. Jose K Jacob, Principal of Universal Engineering College. Ms Reshma P S, Assistant Professor in the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering delivered the welcome address. Ms Rekha M, Head of the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering delivered the presidential address.The resource person for the technical talk was Mr.JitheshMundarikkal, Director, WOZ Technologies. He explained about supervised Machine Learning and unsupervised Machine Learning. He pointed out the challenges of supervised learning and comparison also done with these two types of learning. He motivated and gave suggestions to students regarding the jobs in the field of Machine Learning.

Webinar on the topic “Cyber Security“ for the academic year 2021- 22,organized by Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering,Universal Engineering College, Vallivattam was inaugurated on 05th June 2021 as YouTube live (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KvK3InfzyNo) through Zoom . Dr. Jose K. Jacob, Principal, Universal Engineering College delivered the Inaugural Speech and Ms.Rekha M., HoD, Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, Universal Engineering College delivered the Presidential address. The resource person for the webinar was Mr.Dhanoop R., Cyber Security Analyst, Appin Technology Lab. He explained about the various types of cyber threats and cyber frauds in the cyber world and also explained the methods to protect our computers and ourselves from these cyber frauds.

AARAVAM Cultural Fest

Aaravam – An online cultural Fest conducted on 21/05/2021 as YouTube live (https://youtu.be/f3wvOunAHvM) through Zoom. The programme was inaugurated by Ms.AparanaBalamurali (cine artist). Ms Rekha M, Head of the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering delivered the welcome address. Mr Abdul Gafoor, Director of Universal Engineering College delivered the presidential address. Dr. Jose K Jacob, Principal of Universal Engineering College delivered the Principal’s address. Felicitation address is delivered by Dr.K.K.Narayanan (HoD, ASH, UEC), Mr Francis P.A. (HoD, ME, UEC), Dr.Sreeraj R (HoD, CSE, UEC), Ms Bindhumol V.G. (HoD, CE, UEC), Ms Remya V.R. (HoD, EEE, UEC), Mr Geo Jacob (Administrative Coordinator, UEC), Mr K.M.Gopalan (Librarian, UEC), Staff members of ECE department and Association secretaries of various departments. The live programme ended at 2.00pm with vote of thanks by Mr. Mahesh Mohan, Association Chairman, AGNI. Aaravam cultural fest provided a platform to students, staff members and alumni members to exhibit their talent and their creativity. More than 50 students, staff members and alumni members participated in the events in different categories – Music, Dance, Skit, art & craft etc. We have collected more than 75 videos and broadcasted as YouTube live with live anchoring.

Webinar on the topic “Digital marketing“ for the academic year 2021- 22,organized by Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering, Universal Engineering College, Vallivattam was inaugurated on 05th June 2021 as YouTube live (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KvK3InfzyNo) through Zoom . Mr. Jabir K. Mohammed, Executive Director, Universal Engineering College delivered the Inaugural Speech, Dr. Jose K. Jacob, Principal, Universal Engineering College delivered the principal’s address and Ms.Rekha M., HoD, Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering delivered the Presidential address. The resource person for the webinar was Mr.Sreeresh K, Amazon E-com specialist and Head of marketing – Nexa corporates. He explained about the scope and various types of strategies used in digital marketing.

Techno master

Techno master – An online technical quiz based on IT and communication. The quiz had three rounds – Screening round, Preliminary round and Final round. Total 67 students from various departments of Universal Engineering College were registered for the quiz programme.Final round was conducted on 12th June 2021 at 10:00am through Zoom platform. The quiz coordinator Ms.Gayathri K.K(AP, ECE) welcomed the gathering. Inaugural address was by Dr.Jose K. Jacob (Principal, UEC). There was a felicitation by Ms.Rekha M.(HOD, ECE). Ms.NesmiSiddique(S4 CSE) got First prize and Mr.Sujith K.V(S4 ECE) got second prize.

MoU signing with Maven Silicon, Bangalore

Maven Silicon and Universal Engineering College signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 02/10/2021 in the presence of Mr. V K Shamsudheen, Chairman, Universal Engineering College.
The objective of this MoU is to explore areas of mutual collaboration and cooperation between Maven Silicon, Bangalore and Universal Engineering College for offering various academic collaborations and programs exclusively for the students of universal engineering college.
