TechnoCAD, the technical club of Mechanical Engineering Department was inaugurated on 30th April 2021. The meeting was started at 4.30 pm with a silent prayer. Mr. Gregory Paul George of S8 Mechanical did the comparing.  Mr. Francis P A, HOD of Mechanical Engineering Department, Delivered the welcome speech. Dr. Jose K Jacob, Principal of Universal Engineering College delivered the presidential address. During his speech, he mentioned that the main Aim of the club is to give creative ideas that can be converted to reality.

The Chief guest,  Dr.T S Krishnan Inaugurated the technical club and revealed the club logo. During the inaugural address, the chief guest simply explained about AI, and its fundamental requirements like: Data, Algorithm, Computing power and Imagination. Then he explained about the day to day Applications of AI like, Google search, Spam filter if Email , Transcript generation and virtual background use in videoconferencing. In Mechanical Engineering Design and CAD  AI can be Applied for searching for a particular design from the library files or database by giving a sample drawing or image to the AI Algorithm. Quality control and inspection also can be done using AI algorithm.

During felicitation address, Dr. Sreeraj sir, HOD of CSE Department suggested to conduct workshops and research oriented programmes through the club. Mr. Adarsh T R, Student coordinator of techno CAD club concluded the inaugural function with his vote of thanks.
