CLUB NAME: WINGS

The Innovation project club was inaugurated on 5 th may 2021 by Dr. Dhaneesh Chandran ,Scientist D, Semiconductor Technology & Applied Research Center, Defense Research & Development Organization. The Innovation project club expects to make mindfulness, teach, support and instil a culture of advancement among students and faculty members and to empower them to create novel thoughts and become more inventive. The mission of Innovation Club is to outfit undergraduates with the necessary ranges of abilities through channels of involved insight and industry experiences, in this way helping their development.

Scope/ Aim:

  • To nurture the students to bring out their hidden talents in Engineering, Science, Technology etc.
  • To encourage and assist young creative minds by providing them a perfect platform for showcasing their skills.
  • To foster new innovative ideas.
  • To reduce the gap between the engineering studies and the industry needs.

Hands-on Workshop - Embedded System Prototyping

Hands- on workshop on Embedded System Workshop were conducted on 6th December 2021 at Computer Lab, Main block, Universal Engineering College by Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering, Universal Engineering College, Vallivattam. The resource person for the workshop was Mr Dilavar P.D. He is the Prod alumnus of our department. He is currently pursuing MTech in Artificial Intelligence at TKM college, Kollam. In this session Mr Dilavar gave brief idea about Arudino Uno, Arudino nano and embedded system programming. He demonstrated and described the interfacing of arudino with various sensors (such as Temperature sensor, humidity sensor etc), stepper motor, Dc motor, seven segment display, LCD etc. He also described how to utilize proteus software to draw, design and simulate electronic circuits. DR Jose K Jacob, Principal Universal Engineering College presented a memento to Mr Dilavar. The programme was coordinated by Ms Rekha M. (HoD, ECE) with the whole hearted support of teaching staffs, non-teaching staffs and students.

Tech-Talk on: Solutions Architect

Tech Talk on ‘Solutions Architect was conducted on 10th December 2021 at Seminar hall, block A, Universal Engineering College by Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering, Universal Engineering College, Vallivattam. The resource person for the tech talk was Mr Vignesh N, Devops Engineer, Innovature. He is the Prod alumnus of our department. In his Speech Mr Vignesh emphasised the need and role of a solutions architect in an organization. The main focus of solutions architect is on the technical decisions being made regarding the solution and how they impact the business outcomes. He motivated and gave suggestions to students to become a Solutions Architect. 

The programme was coordinated by Ms Rekha M.  (HoD, ECE) with the whole hearted support of teaching staffs, non-teaching staffs and students.
