On the occasion of Engineers Day & World Green Building Week, The Department of Civil Engineering is very delighted to start the IGBC Student Chapter. The function was inaugurated by Mr. Vasudevan Suresh (Immediate past chairman IGBS, National Building Code of India). Ms. Bindumol V G(Associate Professor, CE) and Mr. Krishnanunni U (AP, CE) are the faculty coordinators of the student chapter. We extend our immense gratitude to the management and our principal Dr. Jose K Jacob for the constant support and timely guidance. We were honored to have Mr. Vasudevan Suresh inaugurated our recent event, where he shed light on the vital topics of Green Building, Sustainable Methods and Net zero waste.
In a thought-provoking discussion, emphasized the significance of adopting eco-friendly practices in construction and development. Exploring innovative architectural and design approaches that reduce environmental impact while enhancing occupant well-being. Embracing sustainability as a core value in all aspects of development, from energy-efficient materials to renewable energy sources.The importance of a circular economy in construction, where resources are conserved, reused, and recycled, minimizing waste and environmental harm.
Around 50 students attended the function and there was a good interaction and response for the programme.
